New Group Supervision!
After 5 years of running group supervision through EFT3 courses, we are pleased to be offering a new format of EFT group supervision!
This is different from – and in addition to – the EFT Level 3 Group Supervision course which is run annually by the Institute.
This is a more accessible and more flexible approach than offered in the EFT3 course. We are offering this because we believe group supervision offers a very rich and supportive learning environment.
“It was very illuminating to see how other therapists work – a sense of being on the same journey as others, facing similar questions and going through similar experiences” (EFT3 attendee)
More detailed information on the format, fees, the supervisors and further course feedback is below.
If you are interested in attending this group supervision, please contact us at either jshearer26@ntlworld.com or ligia@clydetherapy.co.uk and give an indication of your availability for sessions on a Monday at 4pm or a Tuesday at 9am.
Based on the responses received, we will aim to create the groups and start the sessions early in 2025.
Detailed information
Organisation:
The supervision groups will run monthly for 6 months, with the option to continue the group on a rolling basis. The approach is for attendees to commit to attending for 6 months and then have the option to re-commit to the next set of 6 monthly sessions and so on.
The groups will consist of 3-4 individuals and one supervisor (either Ligia or Joan)
Who can attend?
This is open to all individuals who have completed EFT Level 1 training and above.
Structure of the sessions:
The sessions will last 1.5 hours.
One attendee will present case material each session.
The sessions will follow the usual format for EFT supervision – mainly consisting of video or audio recordings of a client session and EFT case formulation.
Each attendee will be required to present case material, with the frequency depending on the numbers in the group.
Cost
The cost of the sessions will be £40 per session, payable at the time of the session. Or £210 (£35/session) if you pay for 6 sessions in advance of the 1st session. In this case, if you miss a session, the session fee can be carried forward to the next block of session, for up to 2 sessions.
Groups:
We will aim to create groups that will offer a good learning environment for all attendees, through matching of experience and training levels (where possible).
We are open to individuals creating their own small groups.
EFT Certification process:
The hours in supervision where you present your own case material will count towards the EFT Therapist Certification requirements. The supervision can be used as CPD.
Supervision of Supervision:
Following best practice, we will reflect on our work in this supervision in our own supervision with Professor Robert Elliott (co-founder of the EFT model).
About Ligia and Joan:
We have worked together for many years as isEFT Certified trainers and supervisors. Not surprisingly we are both extremely passionate about the EFT model! This led us to pursue training in the model and to set up the Scottish Institute for Emotion Focused Therapy (SIEFT) Our enthusiasm has only grown over the years, and we are keen to help others to learn about the model and use it for the benefit of their clients.
What do participants say about the EFT3 group supervision course:
I found this course rewarding and stimulating! It will have a positive impact on my future practice: I’m beginning to feel more confident & competent as an EFT practitioner.
I do feel it was stimulating hearing the supervisors reflections and although it was nerve wracking at first sharing recordings, this did get easier. I am glad I did this and feel my practice has improved and I have learned new skills.
It was rewarding to belong to a small and consistent learning group of 4, sharing experiences
This course has stimulated my interest in EFT – I want to continue to learn more
What do participants say about the trainers:
I found them kind and compassionate, knowledgeable, and able to give accurate feedback in a gentle and considerate manner
Knowledgeable, encouraging, engaging!
Joan and Ligia held the groups skilfully and created a supportive and validating environment for learning.
